Love in fellowship.
Tradition Two – Trust: For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority — a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.
This Tradition is a solid reminder about working together as a group, and a fellowship. God is our only authority, because He’s the only one able to do the job without having it go to His head.
Many in 12-Step recovery have as a common character defect, the desire to control – this Tradition makes very clear that trying to control inside the group or the fellowship, is counter-productive to our healing.
