The more we put something off, the less time we have for other more positive areas of life.  Life gets easier when we don’t procrastinate. –One More Day | More…

Postponing facing up to reality is really self-pity in action. When I procrastinate about solving problems, I am only making the problems worse. Let me remember that solutions come from taking action. –The 12 Step Prayer Book Volume 2 | More…

When we have a problem with putting things off, we seem to add to our troubles by mentally flogging ourselves.

Whether we are putting off an important task in our lives or letting many little undone jobs accumulate, we could benefit from stopping the self-criticism and asking ourselves for the spiritual message in our actions.

Perhaps we need some quiet time to do absolutely nothing. Unexpressed anger may be blocking us from doing what we need to do.

Whenever we find ourselves doing things that seem irrational we can ask, “What is the message from my Higher Power in this behavior?” This question will carry us much further toward spiritual growth than the mental criticism we are tempted to do. –Touchstones | More…

Procrastination – the art of keeping up with yesterday. Today I try to do all that I have set myself to do in a given day.

I make a list of things that I need to do and a list of those things that I want to do. The things I “need” to do usually take priority.

My understanding of spirituality involves a responsibility for those things that I need to do. I separate my “needs” from my “wants” and I remember that I have a responsibility

Today I am learning to live in my day. –Father Leo’s Meditations 11/05 | More…

When we realize we’re procrastinating, we need to be committed to not shaming ourselves. Procrastination is not an indication that we have failed.

It’s human to avoid what we’d rather not do. As we free ourselves from the burden of perfectionism, we’re free to better accept our responsibilities.

In the face of procrastination, resentment, or perfectionism, we can turn to Step Ten for an inventory. We can forgive ourselves, try to laugh at ourselves, live in the present, and keep going. –Answers in the Heart/Anonymous | More…
