It will not make us better people to judge the faults of another. How easy it is to point out the faults of others!  There’s a reason for this:

The defects we identify most easily in others are often the defects we are most familiar with in our own characters. What we dislike in our fellows are often those things we dislike most in ourselves.

We can turn this observation to our spiritual advantage. When we are stricken with the impulse to judge someone else, we can redirect the impulse in such a way as to recognize our own defects more clearly.

What we see will guide our actions toward recovery and help us become emotionally healthy and happy individuals. –Just for Today | More…

My only business today is to work on changing myself, rather than other people, places and things. When I become judgmental, will I remind myself that I’m trespassing on God’s territory? –A Day At A Time | More…

In A.A. I have learned not to judge people.
I am so often wrong. –24Hours | More…

The way to growth is in directions we cannot fully imagine for ourselves. We can become ready for change and then pray for help.

The man who simply became ready to have God remove his judgmental attitudes was surprised to find God’s answer was to make him more trusting of others and less judgmental of himself. The wonders of recovery are miracles because we tried before and couldn’t recover by ourselves.

Miracles are surprises that come upon us because God’s will for us is more creative and far reaching in its renewal than anything we can think of. –Touchstones 14/11 | More…

All
of our lives, many of us had to deal with “tempests in a teapot.” Some of us also took refuge in the bottle when faced with problems.

Remembering this with some guilt, we may feel a responsibility today to deal with every problem efficiently and promptly. This feeling might also create unnecessary anxiety.

We can easily get to the heart of such matters by asking ourselves, “How Important is it?” –Walk In Dry Places/Mel B. | More…

A person who is judgmental to another is also judgmental to themselves. To be free of being judgmental, we need to first work on how judgmental we are to ourselves.

If we quit judging ourselves and start accepting ourselves as we are, we will start accepting others as they are. Then we will experience a level of new freedom. –Elders | More…

Judgment is the constant evaluation of things as right or wrong, good or bad. When you are constantly evaluating, classifying, labeling, analyzing, you create a lot of turbulence in your internal dialogue. Non-judgment creates silence in your mind. –Deepak Chopra | More…
