The most important thing is that today I am willing to grow along spiritual lines, and that God is everything. When I was trying to quit drinking on my own, it never worked; with God and A.A., it is working. –Daily Reflections | More…

I believe that God’s power will break through the darkness and my prayers will pierce even to the ears of God Himself. But only a cry from the heart, a trusting cry, ever pierces that darkness and reaches to the divine ear of God. –24Hours  | More…

Lack of power, that was our dilemma.
We had to find a power by which we could live, and it had to be a Power greater than ourselves. –Big Book | More… (p.45)

Our program will work for people who believe in god.
Our program will work for people who don’t believe in God.
Our program will not work for people who believe they are God.

Playing God. How well I remember this attitude in my drinking days.
Today my spiritual program teaches me to “play” God in a different way.

It requires that I seek to discover the values I associate with God and live them out in my own life. Because I believe that God is loving and accepting, I seek to reveal these qualities in my daily associations.

As a recovering alcoholic I seek to “play” God in the joy, acceptance and love I show to myself and other people.  –Father Leo | More…

A loving Higher Power doesn’t test our recovery, our character, or our faith. Life just happens, and sometimes it hurts. Many of us have lost love through no fault of our own. Some of us have lost all of our material wealth. A few of us have even grieved the loss of our own children. Life can be terribly painful at times, but the pain is not inflicted on us by our Higher Power. Rather, that Power is constantly by our sides, ready to carry us if we can’t walk by ourselves. There is no harm that life can do us that the God of our understanding can’t heal. –Just For Today | More…

To have a master and to be mastered is not the same thing. To have a master means that there is one who knows me better than I know myself, one who is closer than a friend, one who fathoms the remotest abyss of my heart and satisfies it, one who has brought me into the secure sense that he has met and solved every perplexity and problem of my mind. To have a master is this and nothing less — “One is your Master.” The only word to describe mastership in experience is love, and we know very little about love as God reveals it. If our idea is that we are being mastered, it is a proof that we have no master; if that is our attitude we are far away from the relationship God wants. He wants us in the relationship in which He is easily Master without our conscious knowledge of it, all we know is that we are His to obey. –My Utmost for His Highest Classic | More….

Who really gives us our life? Who really gives us our food and nurturing? Who really allows us to be born? We are born through our parents who act as the vehicle of life for the Creator and Mother Earth. Our parents take care of us for a little while and when we are ready we must leave them and be faithful to our true Father, the Creator, and our true Mother, the Earth. Then we need to be of service to the Creator and be respectful to Mother Earth. –Elders Meditations | More…

Everything really is equal. Everybody and everything lives by the same Laws. –Elders Meditations | More…

The Creator made the Earth to support life so that life would continue to reproduce, everything would support one another, and future generations would have the same benefits of supply and beauty as the generations the proceeded them. This cycle will only continue to the degree that we make choices and decisions for the future generations. –Elders Meditations | More…

There is the call of the sea, the call of the mountains, the call of the great ice barriers; but these calls are only heard by the few. The call of God is the expression of God’s nature, not of our nature. We have to keep that profound relationship between our souls and God.

God’s presence is within us, now and always, even though we feel alone, alienated, scared, and forgotten much of the time. We often overlook God’s presence because we don’t recognize it. The creative potential goes unrealized among so many of us, perhaps because we have a rigid definition of what creativity is. We are creative. We are all, each of us, creative. We must be because God’s presence is here now. Encouraging creativity, our own and someone else’s, may mean breaking old habits. It also means giving ourselves fully to the experience of the moment and trusting that God’s presence will prompt the deliverance of our special gift. –Each Day a New Beginning | More…

The call of God is supernatural. It comes with the undercurrent of the supernatural, something that cannot be put into words, it is always accompanied with a glow. If a man or woman is called of God, it does not matter how untoward circumstances are, every force that has been at work will tell for God’s purpose in the end. –My Utmost for His Highest | More….

This is the time of awakening to the inner father and the inner mother. Without this we will receive no high initiation; instead we get initiated into darkness. That’s because any
investigation or revolution without God leads, not to freedom, but to more slavery. Honor the Father and the Mother. Father stands for wisdom and Mother stands for feelings. If we do not honor both, we will not grow in balance. Honoring both sides allows us to see the Creator is both Father and Mother. –Elders Meditatios | More…

If we have received the Spirit of God, He will press through and say — Now where does God come in in this relationship, in this mapped-out holiday, in these new books? He always presses the point until we learn to make Him our first consideration. Whenever we put other things first, there is confusion. Take no thought… — don’t take the pressure of forethought upon yourself. –My Utmost for His Highest | More…

When we speak of the call of God, we are apt to forget the most important feature, viz., the nature of the One Who calls. The call of God is the expression of God’s nature, not of our nature. To be brought into the zone of the call of God is to be profoundly altered. –My Utmost for His Highest |More….

Many of us refuse to grow where we are put, consequently we take root nowhere. If we obey the life God has given us, He will look after all the other things. If we are not experiencing the “much more,” it is because we are not obeying the life God has given us, we are taken up with confusing considerations. How much time have we taken up worrying God with questions when we should have been absolutely free to concentrate on His work? Consecration means the continual separating of myself to one particular thing. We cannot consecrate once and for all. Am I continually separating myself to consider God every day of my life? –My Utmost for His Highest| More…

I do not know how it works, but when a group of like-minded people committed to the transformative process are together, the force of the energy is certainly up a number of decibels higher. You do not have to do anything but sit still, and let your mind be quiet. Know that God’s word is spoken fully only in silence. Be still, and you will know, not by the knowledge of the mind, but by the knowledge of the heart, who God is and who you are. –Thomas Keating,
