The old Akron reading list, was published by the Akron group in 1942, with Dr. Bob’s approval it is assumed. It gives a list at the end of recommended readings for newcomers to A.A.

The marvel of A.A. is that I tell only what happened to me. I don’t waste time offering advice to potential newcomers, for if advice worked, nobody would get to A.A.

All I have to do is show what has brought me sobriety and what has changed my life.
If I fail to stress the spiritual feature of A.A.’s program, I am being dishonest.

Literature published by A.A. World Services, Inc. is a resource for the recovering alcoholic and for anyone who wants to find out about Alcoholics Anonymous, its history and how it works. A wide variety of pamphlets and booklets that deal with the Three Legacies of Alcoholics Anonymous: Recovery, Unity and Service.

A.A.W.S. (Alcoholics Anonymous World Services Inc.) publishes literature in three languages, English, Spanish and French, which reflect the three primary languages spoken in the General Service Conference structure of the United States and Canada.

A.A.W.S. also publish and license translations of the Big Book and other literature in languages and countries around the world, much of which is available in the literature catalogue published by A.A. World Services, Inc.
